Bringing Light Over Heat to the EDC Podcast (Light Over Heat #70)

The deadline for completing my Gun Curious book manuscript is hanging over my head like a guillotine. With decreasing confidence, I am hoping to finish the job before it drops.

Because I didn’t have time to record new content this week, I was going to edit down some of the “highlights” from a 45-minute-long conversation I had with Memphis-based gun guy Mekkos Beech on his EDC: Everyday Conversations Podcast.

To his credit, I sat down to excerpt the best 15 minutes of material but as I listened to the conversation, I realized that it was all highlights. And I don’t mean that I am a human highlight reel of words, but that he managed to get me to think and talk about so many of the things I think it is important for us to be thinking and talking about right now.

We talk about my research on guns, my view of gun owner normality, teaching and retaining new gun owners, gun owner responsibility, how to have civil conversations with family and others, and more.

At 50 minutes in length, this “Light Over Heat” video is much longer than normal, but there’s probably no single source that better captures where I am at right now in my thinking about guns that this right here.
