Gun Trainer Drama

Fake Recoil Magazine cover courtesy of Gun Free Zone this morning.

Of course, most humor is grounded in some reality. Here the reality is drama in the gun training “community” or “cottage industry” (as Tom Givens called it) about who, what, where, when, why, and how gun training should take place. These debates — much like the debates over “9mm vs. .45,” “Glock vs. 1911,” and so on — are long and deep.

Which is not to say these debates are trivial. To the contrary, they are of the utmost importance when you’re talking about teaching people how to use lethal weapons.

Which makes a bit of levity all the more welcome.
